BURUNDI PRESIDENT URGES BURUNDIANS IN TANZANIA REFUGEE CAMPS TO RETURN HOME.

After traveling from his country for the first time in two years, the President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza called for the Burundi refugees in Tanzania to return home, reports the Citizen.

Nkurunziza made the plea during his visit in the neighbouring country, Tanzania, where he called for more economic integration between the two countries.

The Burundi leader met with Tanzanian leader President John Magufuli at the border town of Ngara where he was honoured with a 21 gun salute and guard of honour.

It is first time in two years that President Nkurunziza has made a foreign trip since the 2015 failed coup that was staged while he attended an East African Community Summit in the capital Dar es Salaam.
